GSTR-2B EXCEL MODULE INTRODUCED WITH 6 MORE TABLES STARTING JAN 2025
- Starting January 2025, the Goods and Services Tax system in India has introduced significant updates to the GSTR-2B Excel module, incorporating six additional tables to enhance the identification of ineligible Input Tax Credit. These new tables categorize rejected ITC for taxable inward supplies, amendments, debit/credit notes, and Input Service Distributor credits, thereby assisting taxpayers in more effectively discerning ineligible Input Tax Credit.
- GSTR-2B is an auto-drafted Input Tax Credit statement generated for every regular taxpayer based on information furnished by their suppliers in GSTR-1/IFF, GSTR-5 (non-resident taxable person), and GSTR-6 (input service distributor). This statement indicates the availability and non-availability of input tax credit to the taxpayer against each document filed by their suppliers.
- Six new Input Tax Credit rejection categories will be added to GSTR-2B to help taxpayers identify ineligible credits. These include:
-
- B2B-Rejected – Input Tax Credit rejected for taxable inward supplies.
- B2BA-Rejected – Input Tax Credit rejected for amendments to previous invoices.
- B2B-CDNR-Rejected – Input Tax Credit rejected for debit/credit notes.
- B2B-CDNRA-Rejected – Input Tax Credit rejected for amendments to debit/credit notes.
- ECO-Rejected –Input Tax Credit rejected for e-commerce operator reverse charge documents.
- ISD-Rejected – Input Tax Credit rejected for Input Service Distributor credit distributions.
- GSTR-2B Excel module will include six new tables for rejected Input Tax Credit categories, helping taxpayers identify ineligible credits. These changes align with the Invoice Matching System to enhance Input Tax Credit verification and minimize errors. The update also maintains existing Input Tax Credit reporting categories for better compliance.
