NEW OR CHANGES IN AADHAR CARD RELATED UPDATES
I. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AADHAR CARD
1. For any Updation
- Name Correction/Update – Requires submission of any one of the Proof of Identity(PoI) listed in “Supported Proof of Ide Documents Containing Name and Photo for Name Corrections/Update”.
- Date of Birth Correction (DoB) – Requires submission of any one of the DoB listed in “Supported Proof of Date of Birth Documents”.
- Address Corrections/Change – Requires submission of any one of the Proof of Address (PoA) listed in “Supported Proof of Address (PoA) Documents Containing Name and Address”.
- AADHAAR card must carry for updation or correction.
- In case a child is below five years, parent/guardian can sign the copies of documents. In all other cases, the resident must sign the copies of documents themselves.
2. List of Valid Documents for Data Update
(Person should be physically present)
- Supported Proof of Identity (PoI) Documents Containing Name and Photo for Name Corrections
a. Passport.
b. Voter ID.
c. NREGS Job Card.
d. Marriage Certificate.
e. Proof of Marriage document issued by the Registrar.
f. Gazette Notification.
- Supported Proof of Address (PoA) Documents Containing Name and Address

- Post Office Account Statement/Passbook ( not older than 3 months).
- Ration Card.
- Voter ID.

- Government Photo ID cards/ service photo identity card issued by PSU.
- Electricity Bill (not older than 3 months).
- Water bill (not older than 3 months).
- Telephone Landline Bill (not older than 3 months).
- Property Tax Receipt (not older than 3 months).
- Credit Card Statement (not older than 3 months).
- Insurance Policy (have the same address).
- Signed Letter having Photo from Bank on letterhead.
- Signed Letter having Photo issued by registered Company on letterhead.
- Signed Letter having Photo issued by Recognized Educational Instruction on letterhead.
- NREGS Job Card.
- Arms License.
- Pensioner Card.
- Freedom Fighter Card.
- Kissan Passbook.
- CGHS / ECHS Card.
- Certificate of Address having photo issued by MP or MLA or Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on letterhead.
- Certificate of Address issued by Village Panchayat head or its equivalent authority (for rural areas).
- Income Tax Assessment Order.
- Vehicle Registration Certificate.
- Registered Sale / Lease / Rent Agreement.
- Address Card having Photo issued by Department of Posts.
- Caste and Domicile Certificate having Photo issued by State Govt..
- Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations.
- Gas Connection Bill (not older than 3 months).
- Passport of Spouse.
- Passport of Parents(in case of Minor).
- Supported Proof of Date of Birth (DoB) Documents
1. Birth Certificate.
2. SSLC Book/Certificate.
3. Passport.
II. Things to know for applying Aadhar Card for Children or Kid
-
- Children over 1 year of age only can apply for Aadhar Card.
- No biometrics data required for children till 5 years as the hand impressions keep changing. The children’s account will simply be linked to the parent/ guardian.
- Biometrics will be done after attaining 5 years of age; the Aadhar Card number shall remain same throughout life time.
- After attaining 15 years, biometrics data will be taken again for the last time and will then be linked to the Aadhar Card.
- The child’s photograph is taken during the process.
- Documents required for Applying Aadhar Card for Children or Kid.
- The documents required for child are almost the same as for adults.
- Date of birth proof is mandatory for kids. it was necessary that kid name is written on birth certificate if not then carry vaccination card issue by hospital with birth certificate
- Either parent, who has an existing Aadhar Card/ who has applied already for the Aadhar Card can introduce the child for the same. As such, the parent/ guardian should also submit Proof of Identity and/ or Proof of address. (Examples of few given below).
- Without the above documents, the kid’s Aadhar Card process cannot be generated.
- In case where the parent/ guardian are applying together with the child for Aadhar Card, the parent/ guardian’s details will first be registered and an enrolment number will be generated. Following which, the child’s Aadhar card data will be taken.

- Government Photo ID Cards/ service photo identity card issued by PSU.

- CGHS / ECHS Photo Card.
- Freedom Fighter Photo Card.
- Address Card having Name and Photo issued by Department of Posts.
- Certificate of Identity having photo issued by Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on letterhead.
- Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations. (with photograph).
- LIST OF ACCEPTED DOCUMENTS AS PROOF OF ADDRESS WHICH SHOULD CONTAIN NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE APPLICANT (POI):

- Signed Letter having Photo from Bank on letterhead (with passbook).
- Signed Letter having Photo issued by registered Company on letterhead.

- CGHS/State Government/ECHS/ESIC Medical card.
- Pension Card.
- Army Canteen Card with family photograph.
- Birth Certificate issued by Registrar of Birth, Municipal Corporation and other notified local government bodies like Taluk, Tehsil etc.
- Any other Central/State government issued family entitlement document.
- LIST OF SUPPORTED PROOF OF DATE OF BIRTH (DOB) DOCUMENTS:

- Certificate of Date of Birth issued by Group A Gazetted Officer on letterhead.
III. Benefits of ADHAAR Card
-
- Get one Unique ADHAAR Number.
- Get Passport in 10 days.
- Get Benefit of Digital Locker for storing all Personal Documents on the Government Server.
- Voter Card Linking, This action is taken to eliminate bogus voters.
- SEBI is now accepted as a proof of address for Investing in Stock Market.
- Aadhaar linked Digital Life Certificate is another initiative which was launched by Department of Electronics and IT. Named as “Jeevan Praman for Pensioners”, this system will end the process where pensioner had to be physically present at Pension Disbursing Agency to avail pension. Instead all the details of pensioner will be accessed digitally by the agency.
NOTE- IT WAS MANDATORY TO BRING ALL THE DOCUMENTS ORIGINAL WITH ITS PHOTOSTAT WHILE REQUIRED AADHAR CHANGES.
NEW DEADLINE : Linking a PAN card to an Aadhaar number
- The deadline for citizens to link their Permanent Account Number (PAN) with Aadhaar has been extended until September 30, 2021 by the government. Originally, the deadline was set for June 30, 2021, however it was later pushed back three months. Citizens are now compelled to link their PAN with Aadhaar until the deadline.
- The revised rule states that provident fund members must link their Aadhaar card to their provident fund account by September 1, 2021, otherwise they would be unable to get EPF benefits.
- Furthermore, if a provident fund account is not linked to Aadhaar and the UAN is not Aadhaar validated, the ECR-Electronic Challan Cumulative Return for that provident fund account will not be filed. This means they won’t be able to get the employer’s part of the PF contribution.
